Yesterday I was in Hamilton, Newcastle NSW. I decided to grab a bite to eat before I took the train to Sydney. I thought some middle eastern food would be nice but of course finding good middle eastern food in 10 minutes is not always easy. Anyway I found a place serving Kebabs in the middle part of the town in a type of food square with outdoor seating. I guess I should have known. I ordered a $7.50 kebab but I was asked if I wanted everything on it and I presumed that meant I would get the normal for $7.50. Instead I was asked to pay $8 so I paid and sat down.
The first thing I thought was oh, cheap cheese on a kebab is a big No. Actually I should not have taken the everything idea and should have been a lot more selective with the included toppings but hunger does strange things. But even hunger could not get me to think this was a nice kebab, in fact even though I was hungry I only at just over half ot it as it was not that nice. Just the typical sloppy Aussie made kebab by a middle eastern Aussie.
I was happy to end my meal at a cafe near the Hamilton train station, not sure of the name either but it’s ahip and relaxed cafe on the corner right near the station. The coffee was nicely made and tasted great.
